Hey, lets all be nice humans

We, at Boatbuddy like kind and nice humans. This is the boating world and most, if not all Boaties are champions at hosting and having a good fun time out on the water. We want to give everyone the opportunity to experience boating and not just the lucky few that can afford to own a boat fulltime. This is pretty basic stuff, like physical contact, inappropriate conduct and sexual assault, threatening and rude behaviour, unwanted contact, discrimination and property damage.

Respect the Boat Captain

So when arriving, being on the vessel and leaving, please be respectful to the vessel Captain. After all, in some cases, it is their very own vessel that you are enjoying. The vessel captain is the boss when on the water. He or she will keep you and your family and friends safe and most of all will know how to have fun and get you home in one piece. The boat captains love boating just as much as you!

Physical Contact

Don't touch strangers or anyone you just met not just while using Boatbuddy. Just don't be that person! Being an aggressive and physical or inconsiderate person just isn't cool.

Aggressive, confrontational and harassing behaviour is not allowed. Don't use language or make gestures that could be disrespectful or threatening. It may be a good idea to stay away from personal topics that can potentially be divisive, like religion and political beliefs.

Contact

Contact should end when the trip is complete, unless it's to return a lost item. For example, texting, calling, visiting or trying to visit someone in person after the trip has been completed is not allowed.

Discrimination

You should always feel safe and welcome. That's why we don't tolerate conduct we've determined to be discriminatory. Do not discriminate against someone based on traits such as age, colour, disability, gender identity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex or sexual orientation.

Property Damage and Locking

Damaging property is never allowed. Some examples include damaging or tampering with the vessel; breaking or vandalising or stealing; intentionally spilling food or drink; smoking on the vessel without permission; or vomiting due to excessive alcohol consumption or otherwise. If you damage property, you're responsible for the cost of cleaning and repair fees, outside of normal wear and tear.
